I will be healed….(Mark 5:28)
Belief is powerful. Without faith, it is impossible to please God and without faith, it will not be possible to see the fruit of God’s Kingdom increase in our lives. If we want to be healed, we must believe and then practice faith.
There was a woman who had an illness for twelve long, painful years. Her illness would have cut her off from having true, life-giving fellowship with people, because by Jewish law if she touched someone or they touched her, she would have made them ritually unclean for a short period of time. She would have lived with unending shame and loneliness. Her life became her illness. Until she practiced faith.
A righteous attitude, one that believes in the power of God proceeds forward in faith, believing, “I will be healed.” With a heart content in the promises of God, believing God can do all things. Those people will see God’s kingdom increase in their life as they practice faith.
The enemy of our souls wants us to believe that we will never be healed, so why even try? He wants to convince us that we’re stuck, we’ll never be able to overcome. The faithful keep walking forward believing, “I will be healed.” It may not be a physical malady we’re dealing with but it very well could be an issue of the heart; anger, control, or fear. Fear was something that crippled my heart for years. It directed much of my life until I started walking forward in faith believing, “I will be healed.”
This woman makes such a powerful statement. She’s desperate for healing and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to receive it. Her belief in Jesus as the Messiah is made evident in her actions that follow, for truly, it was her faith in the Lord Jesus that made her well. Some of us want God to wave the magic wand and “fix” our lives. However, what our hearts often need more than anything is not God to fix things, but for us to simply, practice faith. To proclaim within our own hearts that Jesus is the Messiah, the King, believing, “I will be healed.”
Lord, the devil wants me to believe that I will always be stuck, but you are a healer. You call me forward to new life, so today, I will walk forward in faith, believing, “I will be healed,” in Jesus name, Amen.
